Formed in 2008 in Torrance, California, Joyce Manor is known for their concise song structures and emotionally direct lyrics. The band quickly became associated with the Southern California punk and indie scenes after their 2011 self-titled debut helped establish their reputation for short, high-energy tracks. Later releases like Never Hungover Again and Cody expanded their sound with cleaner production and broader melodic influences. In January, they released their seventh studio album, I Used to Go to This Bar, which expands their punk foundation with singles such as “All My Friends Are So Depressed” and “Well, Whatever It Was,” marking their first new music in several years and reaffirming their knack for blending raw energy with melodic hooks.
