All American Throwbacks are a cover band known for their energetic performances at emo nights where they cover top songs from loved emo and pop punk artists. They do lots of crowd interaction and bring an energy that makes you want to party all night! Emo nights are themed club nights where a cover band or DJ plays nothing but emo and pop punk music for the night. I’ve seen them perform a few times at emo nights in The Forge in Joliet, and this past Friday, All American Throwbacks did a Valentine’s Day-themed emo night. I took my boyfriend and it was so much fun! I think all emo and pop punk fans need to see them perform.
The band consists of Reece, Danny, Kyle, Jake, and Max (each member does a mix of singing, playing instruments, and talking throughout the show) and they have an extensive setlist from 3OH!3 to Blink 182 to Sum 41, and so much more. They tend to play the most popular songs from an artist making it enjoyable. Even if you don’t know the band, you probably still know the words!
The energy they bring to the crowd makes you want to dance the whole night. We got there at 9:15 and the event went until 12:15 and we didn’t stop dancing once. With a great sound and visual team as well, there was always something cool to look at on the backdrop if dancing’s not your thing. All American Throwbacks have great banter as well making the show funny to watch in between songs. You can tell they’re having just as much fun as you are!
My boyfriend, who isn’t much of a dancer and had never seen them before, said he loved it and would want to see them again! We were able to meet the lead singer, Reece, and he was happy to share his love for what he does and thanked us for coming! It made for a great Valentine’s Day and I’m excited for the next one!
