Lead singer, pianist, and keyboardist of Coldplay, Chris Martin, took to an Instagram live stream on March 16th from his house to talk about music, take requests and to spread positivity. It’s not every day you get so close to a celebrity’s personal life, but through live streams and the amazing world of social media, it seems almost normal to see into the personal lives of your favorite influencers.
Martin took advantage of the fact that almost the whole world is in isolation. The stream got a little over 300,000 views live, as well as 4.7 million views after the 30-minute video was posted onto Coldplay’s Instagram page.
Martin explained that the band was supposed to be together for the live stream, though due to COVID-19, the band was stuck in different countries. His goal was to spread a positive energy with the video, trying to stick to the music, and not covering other topics.
Martin – obviously new to the whole live stream thing – tried his best to keep up with the thousands of requests pouring in from all over the globe. Sending love to all different countries and taking requests, he performed piano and acoustic guitar versions of fan favorites, such as “Yellow,” “Trouble,” “Viva La Vida,” “Clocks,” “Sky Full of Stars,” and many more. Martin also teased fans by hinting at a new song!
His charming attitude and overwhelmingly positive stories were enough to make anyone watch the whole video. It’s a fantastic and entertaining video to lift your spirits. To top it all off, John Legend even dropped by in the comments to send his love and best wishes for the band. You can watch the whole video on Coldplay’s Instagram page.
Martin wrapped up the live stream by saying that he and the rest of Coldplay are planning on doing another similar live stream soon, as long as we all have to stay inside. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next!
